Introducing the Most Praised Beers of 2024!

It’s hard to believe it’s almost a week since we opened the doors for Beervana 2024. It was a truly epic celebration of good beer with more than 13,000 people enjoying and exploring the wonders situated around Sky Stadium over the four sessions. 

There are almost too many highlights to name but here are just a few memorable moments:

• Duncan’s bringing the party (and the ice cream!) as they celebrated their 10th birthday
• The salty seadogs from Double Vision pouring from their pirate ship stand
• Beers poured from a tower of bears by the good bears at Abandoned Brewery 
• And we crowned a new Cello National Cornhole Champion - Shout out to Sombrero Steve!

And then there were the beers! With more than 300 to try and more than 4000 ‘praises’ dished out through our website, the battle for most praised beer of Beervana was hotly contested. However, like Highlander, there can be only one. So without further ado, the most-praised beer of 2024 is: 

Iggy Hop (Double IPA) by Moffat Beach Brewing Co

This punchy double IPA was more than just a passenger on its trip from the Sunshine Coast, bringing a serious lust for life to Beervana. Bursting with bitterness, punchy fresh hop aroma and a little boozy linger, it certainly got the party started!

The team from Moffat Beach had a Beervana to remember, also taking out second with their Hazy IPA Your Own Private Idaho, while Taranaki’s Three Sisters were third with their Chocolate Nutella Banana Cream Pancake Sour.
