More Than “Just” Beer
While Beervana is undoubtedly the ultimate celebration of good beer, there’s so much more to enjoy. Check out these beer-adjacent libations on offer.
Shake it Up, Baby
- The Alchemist Mixology are back for another go-around at Beervana serving up their beer based cocktails like the Duchess Brownie and the Flirty Lady.
- Meanwhile Wellington’s own Southward Distilling will be mixing up beer-inspired concoctions using their award-winning gin.
Not Your Grandma’s Ginger Beer
- Alcoholic Ginger beer lovers aren’t short of options with Crimson Badger pouring their Ginger Bear, Beers By Bacon Bros bringing up Ol’ Bluey ginger beer, while Brookvale Union will be offering their take on it, along with lemon, lime and bitters, and lemon squash flavours.
- Speaking of lemons, those nostalgic for Nan’s old-fashioned lemonade are in for a treat with the team from Bee bringing their alcoholic lemonade. We hear it’s Bee-licious!
- If cider’s your thing, Auckland’s Morningcider have got you covered with a range of flavours including cider sangria, cinnamon brioche hot cider, and cider slushies!
We All Scream For Ice Cream
- Duncan’s will be bringing the party to Beervana as they celebrate turning 10, and that means ice cream and cake! In addition to serving Birthday Cake Ice Cream, they’ll have alcoholic ice cream with lemon meringue and gold rush flavours. Get it in a cone OR as a beer float!
- Garage Project will be bringing back their Seltzer Soft Serve available in raspberry or mango flavour!
Drinks That Taste Grape
- Ragtag Fermenting Co. are a small producer from Wairarapa which specialises in small batches of wine with a focus on alternative packaging and styles. They’re offering a mimosa in classic and pineapple flavours as well as a sparkling riesling.
- Grape ales aren’t something we see a lot in New Zealand, but Brothers Beer have used the knowledge of their Italian brewers to produce Uncorked, their take on this complex Italian style. Using Sauvignon Blanc grapes and gently hopped with three wine-friendly varieties, this might be the only NZ brewed grape ale you find this year!
High in Flavour, Low in Alcohol
- Pacing yourself is key at Beervana, so if you want to keep tasting delicious beers without the nasty side effects, we’ll have two specialist non-alcoholic breweries pouring on site. State of Play are back down from Auckland, while Heaps Normal are over from Aussie with their range of flavourful alcohol-free brews.
- A number of other breweries are also bringing low and non-alcoholic options including Garage Project, Altitude, and Morningcider.
